I loved making this cake!
I made this for a friend of mine who
is going to donate it to
Grapevine High School's
Project Graduation.
Tonight they are having a dinner
followed by a dessert auction.
I hope my cake can bring some $$
to the Class of 2012!
My mom and dad made the cake plate!
I think it adds so much to the overall presentation.
I took one of the traditional crispy white paper doilies
and soaked it in tea to create a old/worn look.
I love the way it came out curled up on the edges.
The cake is key lime with a key lime cream cheese frosting,
YUM!!!
My icing was a little soft, as always with cream cheese, but I thought I had the right adjustments to help with this issue.
I'll have to keep working on that one!
I hope it does well in the auction tonight.
I had a great time with this one!
It looks Fabulous! I love the tree trunk base as well. I was at hobby lobby today and almost bought one just like that to make a tic tac toe board. I didn't have my coupon so I didn't buy it! (LOL) I wish I could have a piece of that cake, that sounds too die for! I sure would like to have one of those this summer when I come visit. : )~

DeleteHi Shelly,
ReplyDeleteI have no idea why someone would post such a thing,
when it was a tutorial on how to make the rose cake.
I've watched it 5 times and there is no way I could
make it! Anywho, just thought I'd stop by and say Hello!
Here's the tutorial in case anyone else wants to see : )~

Have a blessed day!
I agree with you. I am certain that that technique has been around for quite some time and there isn't any need to be hateful. The cake is beautiful. Anyone who can pull that off has talent!
